We were very pleased to be involved as drinks sponsor at last night’s TechCrunch Pitch, providing beer and wine to a bunch of old and new faces, including around ten VCs, various bloggers, press and start-up companies that had travelled from as far as Germany, Switzerland and, um, Coventry.

The format was (reasonably) simple – startups were given either 30 seconds or 5 minutes to pitch their idea to the audience in general and pithy Dragon’s Den (or “Bastard’s Hole” as Charlie Brooker affectionately calls it) star Doug Richard in particular.

Winners (from fifth to first place) were:

Amazee (Switzerland)
Tactile CRM (Coventry)
TIOTI (London)
Weblin (Germany)
WatZatSong (France)

Very well done to our continental cousins and nice to see that, in this competion at least, the UK didn’t end up will null points.

Thank you for your part in an excellent event. It is great to see quality start ups coming from Europe, and not just the US, these days. Go UK!
