Join our family - Junior C# Developer sought
Wednesday, June 11, 2008
Good news, code-fiends! Due to a hyper-active product development department, we’re having to grow our development team (yet again) to keep up. We’re working on all sorts of awesome new features right now, including live desktop sharing, a whole new UI and some very secret stuff we can’t blog about. Needless to say, it’s an exciting time to join a very talented team at one of the best web start-ups in the UK (not even our words!).

Brain-storming, Huddle-style :)
Official Job Spec
Huddle is looking for a self motivated C# developer to work with what has been called “A winner – the cleanest and most informative [collaboration solution] we’ve seen” (Guidewire Report, May 2007).
You will be operating in an agile environment, working alongside and learning from a highly skilled development team delivering an exciting range of new features for the Huddle product.
You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of these features, including:
- Working with the Product Team to clarify their requirements
- Working with QA to define appropriate test cases
- Making technical design decisions, with input from the other developers as required
- Developing high quality C# code, complete with NUnit tests
- Working with the UI team to integrate business logic and presentation
- Fixing any bugs found during QA testing
- Supporting the live web site as required
About You
You are a bright and enthusiastic software developer, with an excellent understanding of the principles of object oriented design and what constitutes good development practice. This would include some knowledge of design patterns.
You have at least 12 months commercial experience writing back-end C# including database interaction, or possibly commercial Java experience with a good working knowledge of C#.
You have a good understanding of agile software development as well as the concepts of Test Driven Development and unit testing; hands-on experience of these would certainly be a plus.
You also have experience of some of the following: NHibernate, NUnit, Cruise Control, Subversion, IIS 6, ASP.NET, SQL Server.
You may also have experience with XHTML, CSS, Javascript (inc. JQuery) and XML/XSLT, but this is not essential.
You have a genuine passion for ‘web 2.0’ in general, and elegance, usability and quality standards in particular; and above all you would like to work in a fast-paced start-up environment and share in the excitement of growing a global online business.
