Popular iPhone Apps That Will Help Improve Your Productivity

The iPhone is really an incredibly phone. Every day I am reminded of how much I have come to rely upon all of its tools. Since the introduction of the iPhone SDK last year, more than 25,000 apps have been accepted into the app store! Today, I have selected several highly rated apps that help you be more productive. And to think, you used to only be able to call people with your phone…

Dropbox:
Dropbox is a great tool that allows you to sync your files across multiple computers or mobile devices. Put your files into your Dropbox on one computer, and they’ll be instantly available on any of your other computers that you’ve installed Dropbox on. The Dropbox iPhone app integrates with the desktop app, allowing you to access , download, sync, and share links to the files you have saved in your Dropbox.

Evernote:
Evernote makes it easy to remember things big and small from your notable life using your computer, phone, and the web. Use Evernote to save your ideas, things you see, and things you like. Then find them all on any computer or device you use. Everything you capture is automatically processed, indexed, and made searchable. If you like, you can add tags or organize notes into different notebooks. The Evernote iPhone app integrates all of Evernotes functionality on your phone, allowing you to capture new notes and access saved notes from your phone.

Personal Assistant:
This cool app helps you save time and money while simultaneously managing your online accounts:
1. Monitor banking, credit card transactions and investment accounts
2. Keep track of frequent flyer miles, travel itineraries and flight information in real-time
3. Track cell phone minutes and get reminders when your bills are due
4. Stay on top of bill due dates and expiration dates
5. Guard against fraudulent activity
6. View your Netflix queue, eBay bids, and view feeds from your social networking sites

Slydial:

Ever found yourself in a situation where you want to call someone back, but you don’t have time to talk?
Slydial is a voice messaging service which connects you directly to someone’s mobile voicemail. Slydial is perfect for those situations when you are short on time, when you don’t want to bother someone, when a text message won’t cut it, or when you want to avoid an awkward conversation.

Chronolite – Timer:
Chronology lets you run multiple timers simultaneously. But, unlike many multi-timers or multi-stopwatches, it also lets you view and control several timers at the same time.
You can create up to 12 separate timers that can be started, paused, and reset individually or as a group. Timers can count upwards indefinitely or count downwards from a specified time. Once a timer reaches that specified time, it continues counting down so that you know how much time has passed since the countdown finished.
Each timer can play a customizable alert sound at the end of a countdown that can play up to 30 times (about 2 minutes).

Quickvoice:

With QuickVoice you can conveniently record voice notes, reminders, dictations, meetings, interviews, shopping lists, to do lists, and even entire lectures and multi-session seminars. After recording, you can email any of your voice recordings by issuing voice commands.

Jotnot:
JotNot allows you to use your iPhone as a document digitizer. You can convert pictures of notes, receipts, and whiteboards into business friendly formats like Word or PDF. JotNot uses proprietary image processing algorithms to automatically detect and correct perspective and color balance issues, making the resulting documents easier to read, print, and share.

To-Do List:
Keep track of all your to-do lists with this iPhone app. Tasks can easily be added, categorized, edited, removed, and sorted. Create list items is fast and easy. I especially like how you can quickly add to-do list item categories.

WifiTrak (Fine FREE WiFi):

WifiTrak scans for all available WiFi devices and networks in the area and tests each network it finds for usability. It shows a list of the networks sorted from most useable (open, not redirected, strongest signal) to least useable (secured or hidden, weak signal). It can automatically notify and launch mail or a browser when it finds a suitable network. If you have fast internet, your productivity will soar.

ShapeWriter:
ShapeWriter provides an entirely new way to write text. Instead of pecking at letters, users can slide a
finger from letter to letter on a touch screen keyboard.  Recognition algorithms turn an approximate gesture
into a word. For example, a user can start on the letter “m” and drag their finger along an uninterrupted path
to the letters “o”, “b”, “i”, “l” and “e” to spell mobile.

Things:
Things is a beautifully focused and amazingly intuitive task manager. Things instead has the right balance between ease of use and powerful features. You can even sync wirelessly with the desktop version of Things using Wi-Fi.

    Ryan-

Slydial looks genius… if it works as described I’ll be all over that!

“when you are short on time, when you don’t want to bother someone” …How about when you can’t stand the other person?

LOL. Ya it works. But…if you can’t stand them, why are you calling them?? :)

+1 for Dropbox, that is one awesome app. Will check out some of the others as I haven’t heard of them. Curious to see whether ShapeWriter “really works”.

    Cool post!
